Inspiration - Lochers

Julie Jackson of Subversive Cross Stitch recently alerted my attention to Lochers, a place where subversive cross stitch attire dreams are made.

Designer Nicole Locher believes in "the basics" when it comes to creating her clothes. She embraces simple styles which are then adorned with cross stitch embellishment inspired by her upbringing in the Swiss countryside and found objects from flea markets. Her designs reflect both modern and vintage; her goal to reinvent the fine craftsmanship in hand embroidery but update it with playful self irony. In her words, "something your Mother wouldn't wear and Daddy shouldn't see". I'm with her on that.

Here are a few of my favourites from her collection, including some jewellery for good measure. Go check out the rest of her website for even more inspiring and awesome clobber.
